New Buffalo

Last week was a big week. Daddy came home from his most recent deployment, he brought me all kinds of fun souvenirs and then we packed our bags and took a family trip to New Buffalo, Michigan. There, we had a blast with two other families, including Sydney and Jeremiah, two of my little toddler friends.

We went to some local hot spots, including Redamaks Tavern and Oink's Ice Cream. We enjoyed the beach and the pool, and enjoyed lots of games and visiting. I think my favorite part was making sand castles with daddy at the beach, especially filling the bucket with water. I love the beach!

School is going great. I get to play outside in the water on Tuesday mornings and Thursday afternoons. It's fun to splash with my little friends. This summer we're studying different states around the country. This week we're learning about Texas and we had a BBQ sauce tasting on Monday -- we got to dip chicken nuggets. Ewww. I did not like it.

I'm using the potty regularly and it's going well. Mommy says after our next vacation (4th of July) we'll get really serious about potty training. She thinks I am ready and so do I!

Last Weekend with Jody

Last weekend mom's best friend from college came to town from Boston. It was fun! We ate and played together. We went to the Franklin Park Conservatory and we went hiking at the Slate Run Historic Living Farm and Park. She made us laugh and smile and forget (for a few days) that Daddy is still gone.

It was hard to say goodbye to Jody, though. I kept asking Mom, "Where'd Jody go?" on the ride home from the airport. Mom said she had to go back to her home in Boston. Too bad she lives so far away, I really like her and she is a great friend to mommy.

However, mommy shared good news...that daddy should be home in just a few more days. I think we're both really excited about that.

Do you wanna come play with me soon? I have extra seats on the balcony and I love to share my water toys! Come on over to Ohio for a visit!!

Ruby Slippers

I really like mommy's red heels. Although she confiscated them after I started pounding them on the coffee table like hammer heels............

Soooooo......

Mom and I get to spend a lot of quality time together at the table. We talk about all sorts of stuff. My new trick is to rest my head against my hand and start a conversation with "Soooooooo." It makes her giggle (a lot) and it is pretty silly.

I POOPED ON THE BIG POTTY TONITE!

And, I've been doing "No. 1" on the potty in the mornings when I wake up!

Mom is only experimenting with potty training and she kind of gets me freaked out when she starts clapping and cheering for me...but I think the experiment is going well. She says I am showing signs of readiness and that is a great way to start.

She bought me a Baby Bjorn potty seat and it fits on the big girl potty, so no little chair to wash.

I always thought mom was a little off her rocker, but I never knew she was such a great poop coach. :)
