My first lesson in Branding

You know something? My mom is completely NUTS. She is trying to choose my major for me already. "Emily, marketing is a lot of fun and you can live anywhere in the world if you want to be a marketing professional when you grow up!"

Yep, that's what she said before we made this video together.

For the record, I went to the Dr. for my 9 mos. appointment this week. I'm already 18 lbs, nearly triple my birth weight. However, I'm a little on the short side, but I love my dad and thank him for my short genes. It's okay, Keebler (yes, people really call my dad Keebler, as in Keebler elf! Mom says she doesn't care because he's the cutest 5' 7" elf she's ever seen! Ick!).

Okay...brace yourselves for my first product endorsement.

Trying so hard

One week ago (2/16), I started to crawl. It was a horribly frustrating experience. Mom and dad were hovering over me and cheering and I was trying so hard to move forward to reach my toy. I can't quite figure out how to go forward, instead I pushed backwards. I gave up after two pushes backwards...I will get the hang of it soon, I'm sure.

I like to wave "bubye" now. Sometimes I wave, and sometimes I just put a fist forward. Mom says I look like a Power Ranger when I do that.

Still no top teeth. I've been enjoying my teething biscuits and a wide variety of jarred foods. Mom and dad give me little things to taste - which is a lot more exciting than baby food.

Mom and Dad are talking about moving. I hope I get a cool bedroom if we go. I'll miss my pink room though. It's really special because two of my grandmas painted it. Maybe they will help paint my new room, too, when the time is right. I'm lucky to have such nice Grandmas (and Grandpas!).

Last week I got to skip several days of daycare. One was because of President's Day, and the other two days I got to spend with my Grandma D. We had a lot of fun playing together!

I'll try to post more photos soon. Bye for now...it's approaching bath time.

My First Valentine's Day

We had a celebration at Pat's on Valentine's Day. I made Valentine's for my friends (mommy helped me a little). Here's a shot of what they looked like:

I got a lot of Valentine's from my friends, and I even got some animal crackers! YUM! I thought I could eat the cards, too, but mom said no.

Daddy had to fly that night, so mom and I listened to NPR and she gave me a treat. A yummy teething biscuit! You'll notice my faithful sidekick is always nearby when I am eating.

I hope you had a lovely Valentine's Day. And, I hope I get frosted animal crackers next year, too!!

Roly Poly

Mom reminded me to tell you that I'm a regular rolling machine now.

In fact, I have even learned to roll to the coffee table and grab some quality reading materials, much to Daddy's delight.

Michigan

Last week my family took a roadtrip to Michigan. Here are some photo highlights.

Me in the car...for the first part of the 8-hour drive.
Mmmm, prunes and oatmeal in bed.
Daddy took me for my first pool swim. It was cold, but pretty fun! He used to be a lifeguard, I didn't know that, but it was neat to see him swim underwater like a dolphin!
Great-Grandpa Loepertz taught me to play with measuring spoons - the best toy ever!
I also got to see Grandpa Gene and meet his puppies!

This is my Great Uncle Bill and Great Aunt Andrea. They like to PAR-TAY! Yahoo, fun, fun!Got to snap a pose with mom and dad, too!

And we were all dressed up to celebrate Great Grandma and Grandpa Loepertz's 50th wedding anniversary. Wow, I can't even imagine 50 years!
I got strapped in my retro stroller for a while. "Let me out!" Can you even believe mom took my picture?
Mom & Me.
Dad and Me.
And, one last picture with Great Uncle Charles.

We had a good trip and it was fun to meet and play with so many family members and friends. Mom forgot the camera, but we also took a side trip to meet a new friend, Marie. She has lots of pretty birds at her house and a pretty aquarium. It was fun to see them!

By the way...I'm still working hard on cutting my top teeth. Hopefully not much longer till they pop out because they are driving me bonkers!

Mom, Enough with the Camera!!

I love my dog Greta.

Greta likes her treats...and it's fun to give them to her!
