My Ears and More

On Monday night I was in horrible pain and I screamed almost all night long. Mom took me to the doctor on Tuesday morning and I'm on some strong antibiotics. The doctor and the med student both said it was a really, really bad infection. The good news is that I'm feeling (and sleeping) much better now.

Because I've had at least three documented ear infections in the past three months, the doctor wants me to go see an ENT to discuss getting tubes. Mom and Dad are eager to hear what the doctors have to say.

Mom thought you'd like a general update on what we've been up to lately.

*Lots of coloring
*Lots of playing on the balcony -- either coloring, playing kitchen, or using the music table from Grandpa Gene
*Riding in my bike trailer while Mom and Dad tool around Lithopolis
*Playing with my baby dolls
*Talking up a storm and copying all the words mom and dad say
*Reading books
*Eating in my booster seat instead of my high chair
*Playing in the yard and sitting at my new Little Tykes picnic table (with an umbrella!)

I'm still liking my school a lot. We planted seeds a few weeks ago, and we're always doing a lot of art projects and learning new songs and dances.

Hope you're having a good week and I hope to see you before long. I'll be in Wisconsin in May for Aunt DeeDee's college graduation. Muy bien!

Things I do when it's warm outside, or when I want to be outside...

The new view -- of my yard, and my toes

We have beautiful red bud trees in our backyard. They have vivid purple blossoms. Some of our neighbors are jealous of our view!
Here I am, busy at work at my art table.
Mom, how long do I have to sit like this before my toes are dry?
My first pedicure ever. Very cool!

Happy Birthday Dad

Hi Dad,
Mom asked me to write a note to you since you are at training this week. Today is your birthday -- I hope you could hear me on the phone this morning when we tried to sing happy birthday to you!

Here are some things I love about you:

-How you play games with me inside and in the yard
-How we play with Greta and throw her the ball
-The game you play where you make me pull your finger (do all dad's play the fart game?)
-How you pack my lunches sometimes, and sometimes you even put little notes in there!
-Thanks for folding my laundry and making me fun things to eat like macaroni!
-I think it's so cool that you fly "airpanes"
-Thanks for teaching me to fly a kite and kick a soccer ball
-And, I love how much you love me. You make me feel like a little princess.

Come home soon, daddy! We miss you! Have a happy birthday!

Love,
Emmy
(And, ps, it's hat day at school and I'm wearing my pink Bass Pro hat just for you!)

The Easter Egg Hung -- 10,000 eggs! -- and misc.

Nap time today, curled up with my books and toys, with my legs crossed. I have done this since I was a baby.
My new radio flyer!
Getting ready for the egg hunt last weekend!
Look at all the eggs! Daddy helped me because mommy was volunteering in the big kid area all morning. It was a great day!

The things we do

Play on playgrounds at Menard's...just to test them out.
Use the big girl slides --- so fun. Dad says I will like roller coasters when I grow up, unlike mom (she's a big chicken!)
Practicing my pout face.
Farting around with dad. I affectionately call him Pop-pop sometimes.

Look at me, I'm an "airpane" and I'm about to make a crash landing on the bed!

When I take pictures

A picture of my doggy.
A picture of my living room.
And a self portrait.

Looks like I need a little practice, but it's not everyday that I can get my paws on mom's camera!

Blue lips are the best

Today I went to Tessa's 2nd bday party. It was fun. The cake as extra yummy.
We played at the water table and I really hope I get one for my birthday!!
More cake, please!
More water table time, please!
Chillin' at home after the party. And yes, I always cross my legs now, just like my momma.

Bye-bye Binky

Well, the time as come. This morning mommy cut the tip off of my pacifier and I had to say "bye bye bink." She broke it! How mean! But, she said I am a big girl and since I don't use a bink at school she knows that I can do this!

(Little does she know that this might make for a very long weekend!)

Things are going well at my school. We recently planted seeds and they are growing by our cubbies and mommy looks at them with me each night when she picks me up after work. It's really need to see how seeds grow!

The weather is getting much nicer and I like to play outside a lot. I like to help mommy use the net to clean our fish pond, and of course I still love to play ball with Greta!

This weekend we have a lot of fun plans. Two play dates, a bday party, and church. And, mom said in between we get lots of snuggle time and naps!

We are going home to Wisconsin in May for Aunt DeeDee's college graduation and Great Grandma Claire's 80th birthday. It will be fun to see all of my Wisconsin relatives. I wish they would all move here...there is a house for sale on our street, and several vacant lots (hint, hint).

In other news, I hid my daddy's wallet last week and mom and dad were convinced it went out with the trash. They got all new credit cards, new military ID, new driver's licence, etc. And on Easter Sunday, I performed a little Easter miracle and pulled it out of hiding. They were laughing with joy, relieved that there will be no identity theft happening! But, I think daddy will keep his wallet under lock and key now!

This week Daddy got me a new Radio Flyer tricycle. It's purple and pink and soon I will be tall enough to use it. For now, mom and dad have to help push me around the living room. It's pretty cool, and it even has a secret cubby in the back for toys!

Well, all for now. Hope you have a great weekend. Come visit me soon!

What I've been up to lately

I like to crawl into my glider and read books on the weekends.
Like mom, I like to stretch real big and reach for the stars when I get up in the morning. It's a great way to start the day.
I love banana split pudding, if you can't tell.
Good to the last drop!
Go Packers, Go Packers (daddy dressed me in green for St. Pat's...for some reason he chose this)
It's a new game called "Put mommy's undies around Greta" -- way more fun than ring around the rosie.
The bed head is real, so is my joy in discovering a new place to sit in the mud room.
Playing with another little baby when we had playgroup at my house a few weeks ago.
Practicing with post-it arrows. Sign here. Sign here. Sign here.
I am a daddy's girl.
